The only way to the backyard, such as it is, is thru the breezeway door
(I hope to put in a sliding door where this window is,
and maybe another one from the dining room,
which is on the other side of this breezeway door).
Also, the utility room is to your left of this breezeway;
a place I plan to put in a washer & dryer.
These two very uncomfortable chairs are for the cat.

The old lawn chair from, I swear, when my parents lived in Kenosha, over 30 years ago!

Ph

Which I replaced with this . . .

Ph

That wall IS the extent of the backyard.
(Wouldn't it look nice with fancy tiles on it,
and maybe a water feature?)
And the extent of the shaded area, which needs to be expanded upon.
And new furniture. Those rolldown shades are necessary,
but these no longer work; they, too, are 30 years old.
Every window & door has one hanging in front of it.
Actually, the entire patio area needs redoing.

Ph

From that chair's position, I can see these palms, to my left & up,
which are full of birds of all kinds, and make a lovely rustling sound.
Very messy trees; nice that I get the pleasure of them,
without any of the work.

To the left is the pomegranate tree;
In front of me is the original hummingbird feeder . . .

Ph

. . . and one of the ones Brian from The Bird Nest in Kenosha sent me.

Ph

Beyond the patio is one of the side yards . . .
you can see that the winter frost killed most of the bougainvillea,
which will be cleared out on 30 May.
This graveled yard is where the dogs can be;
I hope to have hibiscus planted all along this wall to attract more hummingbirds.

Ph

There are all sorts of garden and other tools & machines
spread throughout the yard, which I will gather up and store in one place.
I have no idea why a grinder is standing out here.

Ph

This is also where the garden shed is, and a double entry door for egress to the yard.

Now, if we turn LEFT from the door (behind the chair),
we see two more of the fancy hummingbird feeders.

Ph

Lovely to look at; hummingbirds are not yet interested,
BECAUSE . . . there is no place for them to perch!
I'm hoping they will get used to these feeders, too.
They also like to perch on the clothes line, which is funny to watch.

And then we come to the rest of the back yard, bricked over . . .

Ph

These ficus trees were also damaged and will be cleaned out

The humungous aireconditioner makes me jump every time it comes on,
if I'm sitting outside. Haven't yet figured out what to do about that.
The door next to it is for the closet that contains the water heater.

And here is the other side yard, where I'd love to put a pool
(not in-ground) which the dogs might like, too.
There are no doors or windows to this area;
the two bedrooms face it: maybe a good place for French doors?

Ph

Obviously, this area of the yard will have to have completely new landscaping, too.

This single entry door leads to the front yard, by the corner of the two streets.
