HUMMINGBIRD!

While sitting on the patio, reading THE LIFE OF THE HUMMINGBIRD, appropriately enough, a book my first husband & I gave my Mom back in 1973, I managed to take the following pics. This feeder, of the four, seems to be the fave of these little birds.

The things hanging from the trees are pomegranates.

Flying BACKWARDS, just as the book said they do.

I only wish I had a closeup lens . . .
and I now see why hummingbird feeders have perches:
for the people to look at the birds,
NOT for the birds to eat in comfort!
