BARNEY GOES IN FOR SURGERY 7 DECEMBER 2015
Barney . . .	. . . the night before surgery
Barney is having surgery for his liver shunt on Monday, 7 December, at Chicago Veterinary and Emergergency Specialty Center in Chicago. The surgeon is Dr. Adam Prink. On Monday afternoon, Janet writes: Thanks to everyone who sent prayers and good thoughts for Mr. Barney. He is out of surgery now and in recovery. The surgery went as expected, and although he had a "not-unexpected" blood pressure problem (which was resolved), everything went fine. They put a ring on the vessel, removed the bladder stones and are biopsying a liver sample. The surgeon called right after the surgery to say Barney did very well and is in recovery. Barney will likely be in the hospital until Wednesday, at which time, assuming he is talking to us, we will bring him home for a month-long convalescence. We will be waiting on him hand & paw.
