BOO BOO HAS A CRISIS

19 MARCH 2008

FosterDad Andy writes:

Boo Boo took a bad turn early this week that got worse tonight. His wounds got very big and began bursting tonight and he has some drainage holes open in his belly. He is staying the night at the vet and is in some pain. Since the cultures came back negative for infection, they don't know what to do other than exploratory surgery, which they may do as early as Friday. This will be a big expense that we just can't afford, but we of course want to do whatever we can for him.

What makes this so hard is that he just loves having a good time in life and he was having a good time up until about this weekend. Then you could just see the pain in his eyes. Anything anyone can do to help would be appreciated.

Linda writes the next day:

Boo Boo's vet bill right now is $920.00, but this does not count for what is going on now. He will have to stay there until Monday. Let's hope this little guy makes it.

And again on 22 March:

He is at Dr. Rattner's, where they are giving him antibiotics, and warm compresses on his stomach. They said that his spirits are good. Eating, drink, body functions are all good. Andy did talk to a receptionist at the Washington Animal Rescue League (WARL) where he was spayed and she PROMISED Andy that she would have the doctor call and send over all of his vet records.

Dr. Rattner took pictures of Boo Boo's stomach, wrote up a report and is sending them off to specialists to see if they have any idea what is going on with him. He was neutered in October 2007 and still has not healed. Also, where the WARL gave him his distemper shot is now swollen the size of a golf ball.
