BUSTER BROWN AT THE VET
22 APRIL 2016

Despite the fact that he is neutered and UTD with all his shots,
I thought a wellness check would be a good idea, especially for his teeth . . .
no way am I going to try opening the mouth of a dog
who's only known me for 1.5 days!

I have such a sad tale to tell you . . .

A bit of a skin infection (he never scratched), a nail trim and
an order to lose some weight was all he needed. He weighs 21 pounds.
My BACK says he weighs 30 pounds!
He gave everyone kisses (and being kissed by BB is like being
slurped by a cow - your whole face is cleaned).
Recheck in two weeks, to see if he's lost weight.

He is still terrifed of the leash,
but we did a bit of practice.
I think he will learn to like
walking on leash with his harness.

Now he is lying like this,
which I take as a good sign,
rather than being curled up
to make himself as small as possible.

Ph

BB in his 'male wrap'; much easier on him than
a too-small piddlepants . . .

Ph

He has been walking on the grass,
which is a step forward for him (pardon the pun)
and little SweeTea is trying hard to get him to play.
He has finally made the connection between the patio door and going outside,
so tells me he wants to go out.

He lives for LOVE and AFFECTION;
when I nap on the couch, he lies RIGHT ON TOP OF ME.
(quite a difference between five-pound SweeTea and
twenty-one-pound Buster Brown.

He seems to be starting an interest in toys
and has moved the dog beds around the room
(his favorite is the one pictured, as it is by my computer desk.).

If I move to a chair or couch to read, he is RIGHT THERE
waiting to jump in my lap. I think he has been ignored for all his short life,
even tho health- and grooming-wise, he's been well taken care of.
Go figure.
