SHE'S HAVING PUPPIES!!

Ceelee

I got a call from the doc: Ceelee is having puppies, three to be exact. She said Ceelee is a "HOT MESS" and basically needs to potty. They think she is having issues with the HW treatment, not to mention she's PREGNANT.

They can't give her some meds due to her being pregnant, so they are going easy with treatment. Doc said they are active and one was kicking the daylights outta her. Dr. Estill said, "Hey, little one, quit kicking your Momma so hard, she doesn't feel well."

Last night Ceelee was so weak she could hardly stand; today, she didn't move too much.

Tonight I spent about two hours with Ceelee. She came to me and literally dove in my arms and just laid her head down. I held her and took out to potty. She finally pooped, which made the doc & techs happy, not to mention me. She seemed so much better this evening; at least she was standing. I took her a blanket that had my smell on it and she laid her head down on it.

She is still very sick so please keep good thoughts coming. She is a very, very high-risk pregnancy.

The pups are due in about 30 days!

Just talked with BJ; Ceelee is better today. She finally ate some puppy food this morning and so far hasn't thrown it up. Her bowels are starting to move better and she is more alert and walking better. If she keeps food down today, she will be going home . . . thank goodness. I told Brenda that I think Ceelee would be better off at home in familiar surroundings . . . she is so shy around strangers and she perks up so much when Brenda visits her.

CEELEE IS HOME!

She's doing better, but that little heathen still is not wanting to eat much. She is drinking though. Her total bill was $610.51 Any donations toward her vetting will be appreciated.

She is on antibiotics, appetite stimulant, Pepcid, Royal Canine food, vet diet . . . Holy Cow ya'll, she's got to eat, I've got cottage cheese, yogurt . . . if she doesn't eat, she'll be back in the hospital.

CEELEE ATE SOME TONIGHT

I gave her a variety . . . she chose Little Caesars . . . thank heavens; now on to the next meal!

CEELEE IS BACK IN THE HOSPITAL

Ceelee is back in the hospital. I went with her this afternoon. Her glucose is down; the vet had to give her some, She is now on a different antibiotic Ôcause the Clavamox isn't doing the job. Her white blood count is 2900 again; it's gone back up even on the antibiotic. She needs fluids again. She has lost more weight; she was 15 pounds when I got her in, then 12.1 and now she weighs 10.8 pounds.

The pups are still alive, but if she doesn't get much better, she may have to have them aborted, but spaying her might kill her. The vet said she may have to put Ceelee on a feeding tube.

My poor baby. I a.m. beside myself. I've cried so much, it's not funny.

Katie Kneesel came to visit me today. We had brunch (thanks for buying, Katie) and we visited Ceelee. Since I didn't have my camera, Katie took this picture of my baby girl. We took her outside and she didn't want to do anything. The e-collar was so big she couldn't walk so we took it off. She didn't walk much, but she did some. The doc said she was pretty much the same, they are running a urine test.

UPDATE: I went there at 5 p.m. I had to do a quick visit. Went in and put my fingers in the crate and Ceelee has a habit of taking my fingers in her mouth and holding them. Today, she had my fingers and was biting the daylights of them. Too funny. She was up in the cage and wagging her tail and I opened it up and just cried. Kissing her little body & nose; all the while she was chewing away. Dr. Woods said that's the most active she's been all day.

They have been feeding her through the feeding tube so maybe a little nourishment is doing what I hoped it would. They are going to be rerunning the blood test and hopefully when I go back again later tonight, they will know how it's looking.

When I see her tonight, I'll update again. I LOVED her chewing my fingers; made me feel as though she was feeling better, not to mention it was her way of saying;'get me outta here!!!!!!!!!!"

That evening:

Just got from going to see my girl. They asked if I wouldn't see her tonight because ever since I left, she had been very active, walking around her kennel A LOT more energetic!!!!!!!!!!!!! She had actually just lay down and curled up in a ball. So, of course, I didn't go back there. I wanted her to rest. I'll see her in the morning.

Thanks for the good thoughts & wishes. Hopefully, with food in her tummy and different antibiotics, she's feeling better. Doc said she was like a different child after I left.

YAHOOOOOOO, but I hate to get my hopes up, I can't help it though,
