DHARMA GOES HOME
4 JULY 2006

June Dudley writes:

Dharma's forever home is with Teresa, Jerry, and most importantly, Daisy (female Cairn) Key. The Keys are from Tennessee and are driving to Florida in their Daisy RV Mobile to fetch Dharma and take her back to her new home.

Daisy is very similar in nature and personality to Dharma. Everyone, dog, cat, etc is a friend. The only exception in Dharma's case is the Wiggly Giggly ball. She can't figure out where the noise comes from and she is always rolling it and growling at it.

We are meeting them in Ocala with Dharma. Tears will be shed from our side - especially my sister. She looooves Dharma. But Dharma's new home makes room for another little Cairn that needs a foster home.

Back from the groomer where, Teresa says:

Everyone thinks they are sisters from the same litter . . . funny.

19 July:

Dharma & Daisy are doing great. Our friends were surprised to find out that we had basically solved the fighting problems. We are still figuring out where everyone is in the family pack. I have been doing a lot of stuff from the C´sar's way and Dog Whisperer books. Fortunately, it seems to be working.

The girls are getting along pretty well. There are still bumps & rubs, but mostly things are never allowed to get out of hand whenever we are around and it hasn't happened when we are not there . . . at least no blood or anything.

Dharma has a lot of energy and she can get out of hand but mostly she is just trying to find out her place. She hasn't gone to the bathroom in the house for a couple of days; I am very glad about that. She now goes outside sometimes without being made to go out. She has always been willing to go with a human but we hoped she would be like Daisy and enjoy being outside in the dog area & on the patio. That seems to be the way of it. She has discovered rabbits & squirrels.

Mostly the girls seem to be starting to accept & love each other. They lie together sometimes in the morning for their nap times. They are sleeping together at night in the same crate without any problems.
