FLO
TAYLOR (@RB)

Stuck in the cat door is Flo, who lives with Lori & Ron.

Lori writes: "This picture of Flo was selected for the Greater Denver Airedale Club's 2002 calendar. They asked that I send them a caption - I'm having a hard time deciding.

"The story behind the picture is: When Flo was six months old (in the picture), she started really chasing the cats down the long hall to the bedrooms. Our bedroom was the last door on the left. I asked my Dad to cut a cat door into our bedroom door so that the cats would have an 'escape hatch' when they reached the end of the hall. Well, shortly after Dad installed the cat door, we walked down the hall, only to see Flo looking out at us from the WRONG side of the cat door, from the bedroom side. She had wriggled her way through the 9" x 6" opening and was quite pleased with herself. This picture is what we saw.

"Here are some of the captions we've come up with:

"Did you say I wasn't supposed to go through this cat door?"
"Did you say this is a cat door?"
"Oh . . . this is a CAT door? Well, look! Airedales can use it too!"
"I've been framed! I wasn't chasing the cats!"
"I wasn't supposed to go through this cat door? Am I in trouble?"
"Here kitty, kitty, kitty!"
"cat door? They don't need a cat door!"
"So this is a cat door?"
"What cat door?"
"OK - that was fun. Where are the cats?"

"The photo was picked because of her - the Airedale - going through a cat door. They thought that was funny. (Obviously, we did too!)

"Ron's friend, Rob, came up with the following which are also funny:"

"These doors should be labeled more clearly."
"One pill makes you larger - one pill makes you small"
"I got in. I can get out."
"Please have my food delivered."
"Don't worry folks - there is another exit."
"Hmmmmmmm, the cat got in AND out."
"Where there's a will - there's a way"
"Are visiting hours over yet?"
"Perhaps if I think teeny tiny thoughts . . ."
"Gotta cut some calories!"

Flo crossed The Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2006. Lori writes:

We had to let Flo go

As some of you know, Flo became seriously ill last evening and we took her to the emergency vet around 10 p.m. last night. They kept her with the probable diagnosis of acute gastroenteritis. This morning, the emergency vet called and said another x-ray indicated more serious problems and recommended we take her to get an ultrasound immediately.

Flo had a large cancerous tumor fully encapsulating her spleen and the cancer had spread to her liver. The tumor on her spleen had burst and she was bleeding internally. She went to the Rainbow Bridge in our arms. Our hearts are breaking.

She would have been 10 on June 3, 2006.

Thank you everyone for your love.
