On 18 January, Gayle Kiesow, CRUSA Director of Midwest Foster Homes, writes:
Jackie Stidham is doing the drive from Waynesville to Collinsville where she will meet Holly Crotty. Six-month-old pup Bryan will be delivered to Paul & Shelly Joyce in Illinois by Jackie.

On 23 January, an email from Forever Haven Rescue to CRUSA INTAKES stated:
We are a small rescue in St Robert, Missouri. We got 13 dogs in last night, one of them is a small male Cairn terrier that is two years old. We are full; can you take him?? Any help is appreciated.

To which Shell Lewis replied:
I've sent this to Gayle [Kiesow] & Sandy [Arnold]. There is a transport going through St. Roberts tomorrow (St. Roberts is right next to Waynesville). I don't know if Gayle has a foster home for him but if she does, maybe she can take him. This is her gig.
Later that same day:
OK . . . we're taking him, thanks to Gayle & Holly. He's in St. Roberts which is right next door to Waynesville where Dr. Tolliver is. She's going to get him over to the clinic tomorrow morning. Holly is going to babysit him for a week until Gayle can find a foster home for him in my area and somehow we'll figure out a way to move him up towards Chicago. Holly will get him vetted at her vet who offers us fabulous prices.
Gayle . . . you're doing an amazing job. Holly . . . you're always there when we need you. I'll call the rescue right now and tell her to have him over to the clnic by 8 a.m. She said he is DEFINITELY Cairn and quite small and very cute. Gayle . . . I told Holly she could name him.
