THE HANCOCK TRIO
APRIL IN ILLINOIS

Gayle Kiesow writes:

April came to us via West Hancock County Shelter in southern Illinois. Some of you may have seen the long list of dogs that were going to be put down the end of this month by several breeders in Missouri. April was one of them.

She is so sweet, very petite and we have no idea her age, etc. She of course came with nothing. She has already had a bath times two . . . oh, so stinky. We are spoiled getting most of our mill dogs from Dr Tolliver; they at least have been bathed before we lay hands on them.

Woody & Racer also came through West Hancock County Shelter. The gal that runs the place is actually following an awful man around from Iowa to Missouri. He gets dogs from the mills & Craigslist then sells them at flea markets. She has befriended him to save his dogs; apparently if the dogs are not sold at a flea market shortly after he acquires them, they never surface again. She had been talking with him for two weeks to get Woody & Racer and you have seen the shape they are in. Racer is a walking skeleton; Woody came with dreadlocks.
