WEDNESDAY, 7 SEPTEMBER DIVE
DAY - THE WRECK OF THE HALLIBURTON

Ph

Descending to the bow of the Halliburton . . .

Just got back and showered off.
Tomorrow is my last day of diving.
Friday I'll wash gear in the a.m. and let it dry real well.
Probably walk "up town", such as it is, to do a little looking/shopping.

. . . where Nils is already taking photographs

Our boat has mechanical problems,
so PROBABLY no more runs to the north side,
unless it gets fixed this p.m.
Also no word of whale sharks.
No large tuna, either, which means the food is not here.

Ph

Large Green Moray Eel on deck of the Halliburton;

Ph

this specimen is about 6' long and as thick as a strongman's thigh

Algae bloom could be late -
Willy thinks the phase of the moon is wrong . . . who knows????

Ph

Bridge, Wheel House of the Halliburton . . .
some merry prankster put a floating head with
mask & touque to greet new divers

(Lack of) whale sharks aside,
it's been a very remarkable,
wonderful two weeks!

Indigo Hamlet . . .

Ph

. . . on Wheel House of the Halliburton

Saw an eagle ray swim by;
beautiful, but too far away to photograph.

Ph

Trumpet fish on Wheel House of the Halliburton

Ph

This fish was not the least bit shy; has seen lots of divers in its time

Anything can still happen.

Ph

Pilot whale bones alongside Halliburton at 102'
Five whales beached themselves and died;
their bodies were towed out next to the wreck
(if you can imagine the stench from five rotting whales, you'd understand why)

Stern of the Halliburton
