IN INDIANA

2 NOVEMBER 2016

Shell Lewis writes:

Meet the Midwest's
newest intake, Hope,
who is in foster
care in Indiana.

I learned about Hope
on Tuesday when
was tagged
on a FaceBook post
about a little
senior female Cairn mix
slated for euthanasia
at one of Chicago's
overcrowded inner-city shelters.

Sure enough, a phone call confirmed that due to her age (13),
Hope would be 'put to sleep' later that afternoon.

Luckily, Crystal, the rescue
coordinator at the shelter,
was able to buy her
an extra day and
decided to rename her
"Hope" because
she now had HOPE
for a wonderful future.

Jim Lewis holds Hope
at the Animal Welfare League . . .

. . . and now she is on her way to her new future . . .
