Friday, 30 September

Woke to bright blue skies, sunshine and a cool breeze;
after breakfast, Neal & I cut up the small bit of bamboo
to be taken away by Lee, our lawn guy, when he finally can get back to work . . .

HURRICANE

Compare this to 2017's Hurricane Irma,
when Pinellas County sent trucks all through the streets . . .

HURRICANE

. . . to pick up detritus, haul it to an acreage not far from us,
and then spent weeks mulching it . . .

HURRICANE

This time, we were notified that "You're on your own, folks.".
Your tax dollars [not] at work. Garbage pickup has been suspended, too;
the companies may be sending their trucks and personnel
to areas that have to be cleaned up. WHERE is all that going to go???

Neal spent the rest of the day power-washing the screen house,
the safety fence around the pool, and all the pavers, taking off
a year's worth of pollen and moss. Badly needed.

I'm hoping we can put the lanai couches back in place tomorrow;
I miss sitting out in the sun. The plant cart IS in the sun.
