KAISER 2
"ROLLS" HOME

SEPTEMBER 2010

On 26 September, Shell Lewis writes:

In the past seven days, several Midwest dogs have moved on to their forever homes and the Midwest Team would like to acknowledge our new families and those who assisted along the way . . . .

Kaiser2

Penny's daughter, Meagan, holds Kaiser

Kaiser was an owner surrender from the Chicago area being fostered by Cheryl Frommelt & family of Illinois, who are the proud owners of two CRUSA Cairns. Kaiser was with the Frommelts for a month and the family's three boys found it tough to say goodbye to their first foster dog. But everyone is happy that Kaiser has found a wonderful home with Penny Ditton of Wisconsin. In a follow-up phone call, Penny told me that Kaiser is "just the perfect dog".

It was a busy week for the Midwest team and we are so appreciative to our new families & foster homes. In addition, I want to thank Jodi, Carol, Shannon & Eileen on our fabulous reference team for doing their usual "bang up" job on the reference checks. And a big "thanks" also goes out to Lisa Zulegar of Wisconsin, Diane Pease of Wisconsin, Marla Lunt & Nan Chernik at K-9 Playtime in Mundelein, Illinois and Pam Spacek of Illinois for the important roles they played in finding our Cairns new homes.

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.

Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top -
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hide Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never re-pack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
