APRIL 2025

JACKIE

On 1 April, Jackie writes:

The blurb in this brochure is one of the reasons
we were attracted to this park and not the highland ones.
You can get a few rogue park owners [who] overcrowd the park
and don't maintain it very well.
When we went to see it, everywhere was clean and tidy.

ANDREA ASKS:
ARE YOU ALLOWED TO HAVE THREE DOGS????
And where would you walk them?

Yes, it was the first questions I asked.
There is a dog walk just outside the park gates and a huge national park,
as mentioned on the previous page.

The manager said these are our homes so as long as we ask permission,
we can do most of what we would do at home.
The only reason we have to ask is health and safety,
e.g., we can have a shed, but not one made of wood.

He said three extra-large bully's he would have a problem with,
but mine are house pets. One lady has two red setters;
they were lying on her window sills like a couple of cushions when we walked past.

Dams to Darnley Country Park is a 16-minute drive from my new home.
You can see why I want to go back to Scotland.

It looks much better in these pics than it looked last week;
I expect it's just end-of-winter shabby.

I spoke to the people at the factory today.
It just happens to be their open day next Fridy/Saturday,
so we're going to that. On 25 April, I have my day to go
through the design for my home; on 2 May, Ann & Mike have their day.

I contacted the East Renfrew district Council to make sure
the licence and site rules are listed and the planning is in place.
I also found a site dedicated to Scottish park homes and
they will look at paper work in lieu of a solicitor.

It good that I don't have to have a solicitor;
it saves about £2 or £3k.

It feels as if it's all too quick, but sometimes that's better.
We've been talking and looking for two years.
I feel if I don't do it now, I will never do it.
