On 5 April, Jackie writes:

This video shows an aerial view of the park we are planning to move to.
At 00.07 into the film on the right, you will see a triangle of bare ground
that is the new phase. At 1.23 you can see two squares of concrete;
I think after that is all cleared, that is where our homes will be.
You [can] see a wee blue & white VW; we spoke to the man who owns it,
who is also the local handyman. He said his view would be spoiled
when the new homes go in, The space is bigger than it looks because
eight homes will be on it with 3.5 metres between each one.

On 7 April:

I get fancy steps path from the road to my back door;
a patio all in sandstone; a small turfed area of garden;
a block paved drive; an 8'x16' concrete garage
with an electric sectional door; and it is all fenced in [for the dogs].

We plan to have a gate put in the dividing fence
so I can nip through with my bottle of wine in the evening,
or we can babysit each other's dogs.

It does seem to good to be true.
I've been researching for a year or more now.
The site owners - Laird Estates - get a very good name
as one of the best parks for over-50s.

I've spoken to a couple of residents on the park and FaceBook;
spoken to lots of park home owners on different parks.
They also say it's a different lifestyle
and they wish they'd done it sooner.

And if I really hate it I will have funds to buy
a wee terrace house in the nearby town.
The only downside is the hill from the town and no buses.
But if they stop me driving I'll buy the biggest, fastest
mobility scooter on the market.
You can't keep a good girl down!

I spoke to the site manager today;
he's going to send me drone pics of the plot so far.

I also spoke to a company that specialises in park home
air source heat/air conditioning pumps.
The government are banning all gas boilers from 2030.
So if I need a new boiler after that,
it would have to be electric or air source.
I can get a split unit that [has] a big cooler in the main living area
and a smaller in in the master bedroom.
They heat, cool, dehumidify and filter the air.

I asked the site manager if I could have this;
he said they had no problem with it,
so I shall probably get it fitted once we move in.
They say it can reduce your heating bill by £14 per week.
