Jackie writes: HOUSE IS UP FOR SALE
Well, it's done now.
The sale [will be] live on Rightmove UK any time now.
So wish me luck for a speedy sale and a good price.
Apparently there is a limit to pictures for the brochure
[but here are a few of them] . . .
I had to wait to get some big bits of furniture collected
so the sitting room was less cluttered. They were picked up
on Monday and the estate agent came by yesterday.
He seems very confident that the price is right
and the house will sell quickly.
We were hoping to move mid-August,
but have now been told that one home will be ready
to leave the factory on 11 August and the other on 18 August.
They then have a 400-mile trip north and two weeks
to get them sited and put in the steps and brick skirt,
so I think we are looking at 1 September to move.
We are thinking of a road trip near the end of August.
We can see the homes and the progress and ask any questions.
I have the hardest part to deal with now:
The public coming into my house - oops -
prospective buyers viewing my house.
I could take the dogs for a walk
and let the agent show them around,
but my distrust of people would not let me leave
the house with strangers in it and if it's raining
I don't really want to be walking the dogs.
When I've sold houses in the past I've had would-be purchasers
open drawers of furniture that were not included in the sale;
they even opened my fridge and looked in it.
I was hard-pushed to keep my mouth shut.
