On 7 August, Jackie writes:

It was a bit breezy and cool this morning,
so I dressed in sweat shirt and tracksuit trousers.
R was in jeans, tee shirt, fleece jacket and waterproof fleece jacket.

We decided to have a stroll along the promenade to Mablethorpe,
about a 40-minute walk. As we walked and the tide rolled in,
the sun came out and the breeze disappeared.

It was hot about 25C (77F). R had to give in and remove one of his jackets.
I decided we should go home because it would get too hot.

We did have a short stroll round Mablethorpe and saw the donkeys on the beach . . .

IT'S RIGHT BEHIND YOU!

WHO?! WHAT?! WHERE?!

. . . palm trees in caravan sites . . .

PH

. . . and cows in the fields opposite the entrance . . .

I take lots of pics of the sun rise and setting,
so tonight I thought the moon looked rather nice.

Every summer, my Mother's family
would spend weeks during the summer at Zandvoort aan Zee,
a beach on the North Sea . . .

. . . until I was six years old, I joined them.
I remember how cold it was to swim,
which is probably why I loathe swimming in cold water to this day.

You can see my family on the beach
before WWII HERE and after WWII HERE.
During the war, just as in England,
families were not allowed on the beaches,
albeit for different reasons.

Pretty. Nice to see that like our place here in our park,
you also have a side yard so that there's some decent space
between you and the unit next door.
