On 18 August, Jackie writes:

Arrived at Villa Parker at lunch time today for a lazy weekend.
It was raining and I only had canvas trainers with me.
We went to a nearby garden centre to buy some wellies.

We had lunch, which was nice
ham salad sandwiches.
I saw the Key lime pie and had to try it.
It was dairy-free and very tasty;
I will go back for some more another day.

AD: I'm still trying to figure ut how a Key lime pie
can be dairy-free, and I've never seen it
with meringue, either, altho I suppose if you make my
longer-version recipe, which is baked, it would work.

[I made it again on 21 August, to great improvement,
and I've revised the recipe accordingly, on the
page linked above.]

I think it was meringue on the top and a soya cream layer,
which might be why it was so green;
it tasted quite citrus and not too sweet.
They also do a lemon meringue pie which looked very good.

The wellies turned into
rather expensive leather shoes.
But very comfy and
a bit better looking.

We are only up here till Sunday cos
Lily has her spay operation on Monday,
and we need to be home before
7 p.m. so she can have some dinner.

I didn't take many pics last week;
it was too hot to be outside.
It's a lot cooler the week:
23C ]73.4F]; last week was 39C [102.2F].
I needed oven gloves on to open the car doors.
