LEAVING SOUTHHAMPTON

1 JUNE 2010

Leaving 1 June

Ph

We had had a brilliant, warm & sunny weekend and were looking forward
to the champagne sail-away party, but it was grey & misty & a trifle cool.

Where is the sun - Leaving Southhampton

Ph

We got on board in plenty of time so we could unpack and organise the room
before we sailed; we were still hoping the sun would break through.

We're moving

Ph

They say the camera never lies; well, it was a flat calm as we slipped our moorings and
headed northwest to the English Channel. The man is just looking over the side,
although you wouldn't think it.

The sail-away party

Ph

Oops, they forgot to tell us they moved it indoors cos it was cold & wet.

We're not alone on this ship

Ph

We found the bar, but it was so warm that Tom went back out on deck to cool down;
we did not share his joy at being in the open air.

Gin makes the sun shine

Ph

The girls keep an eye on Tom while I pretend I'm David Bailey

I'm on holiday

Ph

I told you gin would make the sun shine.
Actually, this is the winter garden lounge; it had a waterfall in it.

The view as we sail down the Solent

Ph

A very nice castle somewhere on the South Coast
I gave up, put the camera away
and concentrated on the cocktail menu

[The Solent is a strait separating the Isle of Wight from the mainland of England. Read about it HERE]
