CHAOS IN ILLINOIS 20 AUGUST 2006
Shell writes: Having four of the pups & Maggie Mae & Jerry at our house was a real joy! A "messy joy" but a joy nonetheless!

Maggie Mae (who has recently been treated for mange - the non-contagious kind) is just a loveable little girl. She wants nothing more than to lie alongside you and be rubbed & scratched. She exhibits that "low" walk typical of mill dogs but actually walks quite nicely on a leash. This morning, Jim took a Mars King and worked on her coat for about an hour and she absolutely loved the attention. Turns out there is quite a beautiful dog under all that stringy coat.

Jerry is heartworm positive and has a long road to recovery ahead of him. He is a sad little man who appears to be a bit depressed and prefers the solitude of his crate to the company of others. When he did venture out, he showed a fondness for marking every corner of my kitchen and did wag his tail when we bent down to pet him. He'll need a lot of time & patience but he's a lovely dog and will be a great companion for someone when his health problems are behind him.
