As you can see, my idea to cut circles in each layer
and switch the pieces around didn't work out so well;
the chocolate layers in particular fell apart.

So I start to frost Layer Two,
completely forgetting to brush on
the sugar syrup . . .

Layer Three, like Layer One, is almond.
The other chocolate parts
have fallen into ten-piece puzzles.
Which we'll still eat, of course.
