NORTH DAKOTA 2

KLINE & LOKI

2 SEPTEMBER 2012

On 28 August, Gayle writes to Andréa:

I need someone to pick up the two North Dakota
Cairns this Sunday in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin,
move them close to Milwaukee, and hold them over night
so Colleen Swartz can hook up with them on Monday and
move them to Indiana for their final destination in Michigan.

This long transport had been set for15 September,
but I was told today that the rescue group in ND
cannot get them to St. Paul as planned,
but can move them this coming Sunday.

Can you put something out there for some help?

I did, and Gayle soon reports:

Thanks to Kevin Smith getting back to me this morning,
the transport for this weekend is ON after all.

Both Cairns have been in rescue for a couple of months
or so with Prairie Paws Rescue in Jamestown, North Dakota.
After being on Petfinder for a length of time and
taken to adoption events,
neither Cairn received any attention at all;
apparently people in ND are not interested in the Cairn breed,
no matter how cute they are.

FROM PETFINDER.COM:

Kline is a male Cairn Terrier
who was at a pound and
was overdue for his family
to come and get him.
They didn't show up,
so he was taken to another
shelter for a temporary stay
until a rescue or shelter
would take him to help
find him a home.

Kline has an interest
in chasing cars,
so it's required
that the adopter have
a fenced yard.
He has also shown interest
in chasing cats and
some signs of toy aggression,
but the foster home
is working with him on this.

Kline is a fun little dog
and will make someone
a nice companion if he
is worked with,
taken for walks and
helped to adjust to
a new home.
All his medical work is done,
including neutering, shots,
worming, flea treatment,
bordatella and a
complete vet exam.

FROM PETFINDER.COM:

Loki is a one-year-old Cairn Terrier,
and is very playful, loves the dog park and playing fetch.
He does great with other dogs, but has not been around any cats yet.
Loki is settling into a foster home with other dogs and
we will get to know more about his personality & traits.
As with most Terrier breeds, he is active and requires an active family.
The foster family is working with him on house & crate training, too.
He is up-to-date on all shots, neutered, has flea &
tick treatment, worming, bordatella and a complete vet exam.
