Priscilla writes: Leo Moved to
New Facility to Continue Recovery

On the advice of Alameda East Veterinary hospital
where Leo has been staying, we transported him
to a facility this morning that is equipped to care
for Leo in a non-hospital environment.
His doctors felt that since his condition
is no longer critical, it would be in his best interest
to transfer him to a less stressful atmosphere.
They suggested a transitional care facility for him,
as he is going to need special care
during this phase of his recovery. They will monitor
his weight daily, feed him several times a day
on a carefully-planned schedule
in addition to his medications.

There is also a veterinary clinic close by
if needed for an emergency. He will also
receive gentle massages every day to
help make him feel better, and lots of TLC!
He has a comfy mattress & a big water dish
in his personal suite at all times.
He will receive treats throughout the day,
one of his buffalo bones for chewing &
a Kong with peanut butter at bedtime.

Weighing in

Of course, Amy & I will be visiting him regularly.
We think it is best that Leo settle in prior to having other visitors,
but once he is ready, we will let you know and
ask that you contact either Amy or myself to set up a time.
