Sadie's first embrace with her new DogMom.

On 5 March, Dana & Gary write: "We are really happy to have Sadie as part of our family. We are especially grateful for Lynn being able to fly her over to us and save us a nine-hour drive each way. The newspaper article that Ellen wrote was great. We are excited to share our success story with others, hopefully encouraging them to work through ATRA for a future dog.

Good morning with Mom

"Sadie is doing well. Her tail is wagging more and more each day. It is really neat to see her personality starting to come out more and more as she becomes more comfortable around us. She is really turning into a momma's girl . . . but Dana doesn't mind; in fact, she loves it. As I write this, Dana & Sadie are curled up on our bed catching up on their sleep. Sadie loves coming back up on the bed in the morning and snuggles right up to Dana. It is a wonderful sight to see.

The Three Amigos at play in the backyard

"Sadie just loves to play outside with Gromit & McKenzie. There is nothing more rewarding than to see the three of them chasing each other around in our backyard. Sadie is incredibly fast and quite intelligent. McKenzie loves to play fetch and run around with a ball in her mouth. Gromit takes every opportunity he can to go after McKenzie to try and get the ball out of her mouth. Sadie will wait for Gromit & McKenzie to be tied up wrestling with each other and then quickly sneaks in, grabs the ball, and takes off. Sometimes Sadie will take off running with the ball, whipping her head side to side to toss the ball. Sometimes she tosses it so high in the 'aire', she will lose sight of it for a brief second. Other times she will just take the ball to a corner and lie there and enjoy chewing on it. When not involved in a chase or after a ball, Sadie will frequently come and sit at Dana's feet."

"Hey, Dad where are you going with that camera? I'm not done posing yet!"

"An interesting note. Dana asked Sadie's foster family if Sadie was a digger. The foster family (the Gee's, who did a wonderful job with Sadie) kind of laughed at Dana and pointed out that Sadie only has one front leg. Sadie may only have one front leg, but she does not let that slow her down one bit or override her natural Airedale instincts. Yesterday we were all out in our backyard and we had to stop Sadie from digging a hole two different times."

Gromit, KING of the BACKYARD

"Sadie, Gromit, & McKenzie are all doing well. Thanks again to everyone for all of their help getting Sadie to us and the neat website/story."

McKenzie, Queen of the couch (before we got new furniture and Mom said I could not be up on the couch all the time).

A crock we had made of Gromit & McKenzie at Rowe Pottery in Cambridge, Wisconsin. Now we need another crock with Sadie on it.

It's good to be home.

We'll even go to outer space if that's what it take to get a SpareDale to his/her "Forever Home"
