Unfortunately, it was not to be, and in early September, I admitted defeat and cut off the branch. Now, I have just discovered ANOTHER Redbud tree that looks interesting: CERCIS CANADENSIS 'FLAME THROWER' . . . . . . whose flowers look like this . . . THE HUNT IS ON!

As of October, Redbud FLAME THROWER is still OUT OF STOCK,
so instead, I purchased Redbud WEEPING RUBY FALLS,
which is now HERE
