I'm doing a 100-mile kick-off ride today, 22 October.
It's a kick-off in terms of setting my mind to do it.

On the morning of 22 October,
Debbie writes:

We're almost ready to go.
It is 6:20 a.m. EDT; 70 minutes
from leaving on our Kick Off ride
for the ROLLING 4 RESCUE
2011-2012
ride.
It is currently 38 degrees F.
in North Carolina; I have on
two layers of everything.
We ought to be able to start
stripping off layers around
10 a.m. (I hope).

We'd like to raise
a little money TODAY for
NATIONAL AIREDALE RESCUE;
our treasurer is standing by
to count up
your dimes, nickels, quarters . . .

Before falling asleep, Debbie writes:

Many thanks to Cathy Biersack of ATRVA
(AIREDALE TERRIER RESCUE OF VIRGINIA
who is always so willing to help out.
I had to text the pics to Cathy,
who in turn emailed them to Andréa.
Thanks, Cathy.

Total for today are 103.7 miles ridden & 4783 calories burned.
It was a lot of fun. OK, so not really. It was a lot of work.
It's the first time I've ever ridden that far.
Prior to today, my best was about 85 miles.

If you haven't made your donation yet, please do it.
Even if it's a penny a calorie, or even a dime a mile.
I'm sending in my pledge right now.
It all goes to help the dogs that we love so much.

Hey, do you all hear my shout-out for Andréa?
Do any of you know anyone else who gives of her time
so freely for all of our fundraising efforts?
Thanks, Andréa. You rock & ROLL.
