THINGS I NEVER KNEW:

¤ I actually miss riding when I am not able to pedal some miles each day. Who ever would have thought that was possible?

Ph ¤ Saran Wrap Bowl Covers® are mandatory for touring by bike. The small size is a perfect fit for covering your bike seat at night. With a stretch & a snap, night&time condensation won't give you a wet butt in the morning. Remove before riding.

Ph ¤ Saran Wrap Bowl Covers® are also essential for riding in the rain. They make great helmet covers. Otherwise, the rain goes through the helmet vents, rolls off your head, down your neck, and inside your jacket. That of course makes the rider wet inside and out.

Here CeCe & I model these not-so-fashionable items.
Notice neither of us is wearing biking helmets,
but we were having fun!

The quality of the picture is poor because Tim took it in his mom's kitchen with no lights on - let's just say he caught CeCe & me in an embarrassing moment. I wasn't about to pose for a better picture. I also hope to never actually have to wear the plastic wrap on my head during an actual tour!

Can you see me smiling? That is because after three days without pedaling anywhere, I was able to get back on my bike. I also learned one more thing . . .

¤ It is possible to ride your bike 20 miles, watch a parade, enjoy walking around a museum, and still ride home!

How this is possible, I am not sure, but it is exactly what we did on Monday afternoon.

We left the house, rode to our favorite diner and had breakfast. We hit the street the same time as the Scottsville, New York Memorial Day Parade so we hung around and watched. Then we pedaled over to Mumford, New York and visited the Genesee Country Museum and Village . . . I can remember when I used to think it was far to go there by car!

After an hour or so walking around in the museum, we rode through Caledonia, New York to meet up with the Lehigh Valley Trail. We took the mostly-cinder trail to within a few miles of our house.

I arrived back home hot & fatigued but still alive. Baron thought it was great to lick the sweat off my arms. I spent the rest of the afternoon romping with the dogs and generally making up for leaving them alone for five hours on a holiday.
