So Rosie is all dressed up,
with no place to go.
As it was lunchtime and
FlapJacks allows dogs to dine outside,
we decided to take her with us.

Little did we know that Waitress Haydee
had the same costume as Rosie!
(Well, except for the glasses.)

Don't they look great together?

RosieVi the Shy is a puppy mill survivor;
she spent nine years as a breeder bitch,
which means she could have had 17 litters before she came into CRUSA
as part of THE SENIOR SQUAD Rescue Mission in October 2006.
When she came to us, we thought she would maybe live a year or two
and we determined to make the end of her life better than the beginning.
She has now lived with us for nine years;
her birthday is 5/10/97; her Gotcha Day is 11/5/06.
You can read her story HERE and see how there was "nobody home"
when we first got her. (She was with us for 2.5 years before
she would take food from my hand.)

We would like to thank Dr. Carlisle & staff of Kenosha Animal Hospital
and Dr. Parks & staff of The Vet Clinic of Palm Harbor
for their continuing care of Princess Rosie;
Jean Rozinski & Peggy Knupke for keeping her looking beautiful;
AND ALL THOSE WHO VOTED FOR HER!

On 4 November 2015, at 9:45 a.m.,
Our Rosie crossed The Rainbow Bridge,
with the help of Dr. Mann, Dr. Parks and
the caring staff of the Vet Clinic of Palm Harbor.
She was with us for nine years minus one day;
her Gotcha Day was 5 November 2006.
The story of her rescue can be read HERE

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills
for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine
and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing:
they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.

They all run and play together,
but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
Her bright eyes are intent; her eager body begins to quiver.
Suddenly, ahe breaks from the group, flying over the green grass,
faster and faster. You have been spotted,
and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face;
your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into those trusting eyes,
so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together . . .
