SANDY GOES BACK TO THE VET 21 JUNE 2007

Linda writes: Herb took Sandy to see Dr. Corcoran yesterday, as her eye looked swollen again. The pressure had gone back up to 56 from 46 from last week; it should be 25. Dr. Corcoran said that Sandy is in pain; she gave us some Tramadol for pain and Baytril. She did a ultrasound which showed no evidence of a tumor in the posterior chamber. Sandy is going in on Thursday to have a gentocin injection into the posterior chamber. The gentocin injection is a shorter procedure, but it will not change the lens; it could take a few weeks for the eye to scar down and be comfortable. The other option is to remove the eye, but she would be under anesthesia longer. THE TOTAL BILL FOR SANDY'S EYE EPISODE, INCLUDING TOMORROW'S OPERATION, WILL BE $1282 USD
