THE BRAVO BOX
won by MAUREEN SCOTT, who writes on 13 March:
Yesterday the postman dropped off a lovely big box from the US marked "gift".
"Oh boy! Oh boy! Whatever can it be?" exclaimed the Airedales. "It smells like Airedales," they snuffled.
Delicately, I cut the tape and found inside yards of bubble wrap taped very thoroughly around something hard.
???
Oh, I know! And I snipped through the tape and unwound the bubble wrap with the greatest of care. And there it was -- the "Bravo" box that Christine was kind enough to put up as an incentive prize for donations to the Seniors' Fundraiser!
What a lovely unique bit of ceramic work this box is! It has an Airedale with a tennis ball sitting on the top. He!s beautiful. The box is beautiful! I love it to bits!!
(The Airedales, of course, would have preferred biscuits. Just shows where their...er...taste lies.)
Many thanks to Christine for her generosity in donating this wonderful box and to Christine & Andréa for the countless hours spent making this seniors' fundraiser such a rousing success as well as a lot of fun!

The Bravo box is a one-of-a-kind piece purchased at the Montgomery Terrier Show by Christine Votel, who writes: The Airedale resting comfortably reminds me so much of Bravo, our current foster. He is keeping a ball nearby just in case someone wants to throw it & throw it & throw it.
The Bravo box was created by Joulia.
Bravo is a just-turned-senior foster dog living with Tim & Christine. He grumbles & moans & barks far too much, but he is a gentle sweet dog who is hoping for a home of his own for his senior years. Both of Bravo's original "parents" died in the same year. This left him confused & alone. In his early years, Bravo was spoiled and not made to follow many rules. He really thinks Camp Sheffer is tough as he has had to learn to sit & down & stay. You CAN teach an old dog new tricks.
Even at nine years old, Bravo has a great work ethic.
He has guarded me the entire time I've been working on this fundraiser.
