GOES HOME

26 JANUARY 2010

Donna writes:

One day, Art & I were out walking all five dogs and we went down a cul-de-sac 1-1/2 blocks from our house (we never go that way, but due to snow we had no choice), and that's where we met Sissie's new family!

They had been doing research on Cairns and they saw ours and that's how the story goes. I not only have Sissie right around the corner to see when I want, but I've been blessed with wonderful, dog-loving new friends! And I can continue to rescue and love the next baby that needs me!

She's a lucky girl and so am I!

Well, life doesn't get any better then this for a girl. I'm so happy I have found my new forever family! They are fantastic and love me so much! I have two new doggie sisters and one human sister, (I get to sleep with her!) The best part of my new family is they live only two blocks from my foster family. I'm a lucky girl to have the best of both worlds!

I was sad to leave my foster mom, but she said it would be good for me to have my very own family, and she said she needed the room for the next little girl that needs her.

I send licks & hugs to all who helped me to get to my final destination in life.

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.

Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top -
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hide Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never re-pack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
