Linda Savage writes:

Soo-Z was born on November 22, 1994 and named Soo-Z Princess of Memories. Winston was born on February 1, 1996 and named Winston Prince of Dreams. I first met them when she was seven years old and he was six years old. I got a phone call from their owner, Audrey, as her husband had passed away and she could no longer take care of Soo-Z, Winston and their four pups, Sonnet, Teddy, Mac & Gitchi, all five years old.

So in 2001, Pattie Hellyer & I drove up to Carlisle, Pennsylvania to pick up Soo-Z & Winston's four pups. These guys were the biggest Cairn terriers I had ever seen, all weighing in around 25-30 pounds. Their diets were the same as their owners. For breakfast they all got pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausages, and eggs, etc. For dinner it was steak, chicken, pork chops, etc., and Audrey never missed a birthday party for any of them. Whatever the owners ate, all six Cairns ate. They were very happy big guys.

Teddy was adopted by Pattie and Mike Hellyer in Maryland.

Mac & Gitchi were adopted together by Gary Lambert & Jerry McGee, two very nice guys in Maryland.

Sonnet was adopted by Barbara Keller
& Steve Cohen in Virginia.

When Audrey passed away, she left a letter requesting that her daughter get in touch with me or CRUSA and surrender Soo-Z & Winston to CRUSA along with a small cash donation.

So on August 5, 2006, Debbie Hodgens & I drove to meet Audreyıs daughter and got Soo-Z & Winston. I called JoAnn Elliott to see if she & Deanna would foster these guys, as they like the seniors. I told them that might be a long-term foster and they had no problem with this. When JoAnn & Deanna met Soo-Z & Winston, they fell in love with these two great dogs.

This is a very sweet & sad story for me as I had met Audrey in her home and see where all these wonderful dogs came from. I am hoping that Audrey & Soo-Z are looking down on their pups & Winston, thinking that CRUSA did a good job with all of her babies.
