THE TENNESSEE 8
ON THE ROAD AGAIN

6 & 7 JULY 2018

BJ continues:

Friday was spent just resting, but poor TOTO, my diabetic girl,
was having diarrhea and some vomiting. Me, being the paranoid mom,
called Dr. Sarah. Got some FORTIFLORA for her.

Friday for me was making
their INP [I'm Not
Perfect]
blankets,
getting copies/packets of
their records and just in
general trying hard
to make sure I did not
forget anything.

Saturday morning,
I loaded up the babies
and drove off to Louisville
to meet Bill.

Sunday was spent
driving to Elizabethtown,
Kentucky to meet Vickie
Meyers who will foster TOTO.

Victoria has experience
with diabetic dogs.

I was relieved . . .
I learned how to give shots,
but still didn't feel
confident enough in
taking care of her needs.
I'm blessed.

Midwest Placement Director Shell Lewis has foster homes
prepared for the following (this, too, can change):

As of 6 July:

BUTTONHOOK - Six-year-old male,
staying with BJ in Kentucky to work on aggression issues.

ZZ - Six-year-old female,
to be fostered by Tammy Ramey in Iowa.
Coming with eye meds and is "sweet, but scared".

MOLLY - Six-year-old female,
to be fostered by Lisa Crabtree in Illinois.

TOTO - Eight-year-old female,
staying with BJ in Kentucky. She is diabetic and blind.

MONA - Eight-year-old female,
to be fostered by Sue Stoughton in Illinois.

BIG GIRL - 10-year-old female,
to be fostered by Karen Rivera in Illinois.
Bad eye(s); removal may be necessary.

ZACH - 10-year-old male,
to be fostered temporarily by Melanie Oleksa in Iowa,
then moving to Linda Denton in Colorado on 20 July.

ZOEY - Female to be fostered in Kentucky.
"Has an enlarged heart and is in pretty rough shape.
Not up for traveling".

On 8 July, Violetta writes:

Five of the TENNESSEE 8 - BIG GIRL, MONA, MOLLY,
ZZ & ZACH - were transported on Saturday from
Kentucky to Iowa by CRUSA Angel Bill Schumacher.
Bill flew to Louisville, Kentucky, met BJ at Peggy Nalley's home
and drove the five Tennessee furbabies to Davenport, Iowa,
where he met Melanie Oleksa.

He also gave a ride to their forever homes to CRUSA's BEAR & INDY.
BEAR's new mom lives in Nebraska and drove to
Davenport to meet Bill and get her furbaby,
while INDY's new mom lives in the Chicago area,
so INDY stayed with Bill as he returns to his home in Chicago.

The five Tennessee babies ran happily in Melanie's yard
and in the coming week will be picked up by Shell Lewis
and delivered to their own foster homes in Illinois.
The last video shows them settling down.

The other three Tennessee furbabies - ZOEY, TOTO & BUTTONS
(f/k/a BUTTONHOOK) - stayed in Kentucky.

ZOEY went to her foster home in Kentucky;
TOTO is diabetic and blind and needs a foster home that can
give her two insulin shots per day; and BUTTONS is fear-aggressive
and needs an experienced foster home that can work with him and a trainer.

BECKY HAWKINS:
Such a wonderful large network of people getting the job done!
Prayers for these babies' continued journeys.

ANITA CHAROCHAK:
How wonderful! I looked at the first video of TOTO and
saw the insulin case where the previous owner wrote
'love her please' on it. It was so sad. Perhaps I was
too judgmental in my original comments. Maybe the breeder
just got older and had no money to spend on his dogs . . .
they all seem so happy & loving. Molly is sweet, too!
