I sold the caravan yesterday [the Sussex Holiday Home,
which can be seen HERE].
We are hoping we will be able to move mid-August
and still enjoy some Scottish summer.
We should definitely be in for Christmas.
I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed about packing.
I brought all the stuff down from the loft;
well, Mike helped me, [and] then all the stuff from the caravan.
The house feels so cluttered.
[On] Tuesday, five boxes go to one dog charity shop;
then [on] Wednesday, another dog charity comes to collect
all the conservatory furniture and a spare wardrobe,
so that will give me space to set the packing boxes.
I've provisionally booked the removal company for mid-August,
so as soon as we get a date we will know what time limits we have
to get everything all packed.
12 May:
I had hoped to hear back from the drawing office at the factory
with a third walk-through of my home so I can approve it
and they can start the build.
Once I have the date confirmed,
I can get the RSPCA to collect my leather suite
(as it will not fit through the door of my new home),
my television and several cupboards.
Then it's down to packing wardrobe contents,
although I do need to go through all my dresses
and if it has a back zip that I can no longer do up,
then it goes to charity.
THIS will be my local town; one mile from my new home.
I'll have to learn Glaswegian;
I never understood half of any conversation with Tom's family.
Tom had developed what we call a forces accent -
softer, clearer and slower than broad Scots or Doris,
which are the Scottish spoken languages or dialects.
Three examples of Glaswegian are HERE, HERE and HERE.
22 May:
[I have now been shown] the colours and styles of furnishings
I have chosen. There are a couple of wee errors,
like two showers, the wrong microwave, wrong wallpaper in bedroom
and wrong opening on a cupboard door.
These are being corrected today
and I should get the final order paperwork tomorrow to sign.
