Tammy & Jessi were gone in a flash, heading home and there Bob & I were with ALL the dogs until Sunday morning when we were to head for Northern Illinois and Carol's boarding kennel. She is ready to take care of Ty & the kids until they are ready to go into foster homes. Thank you, Carol!

Mike & Linda Carter with Stephanie

Mike & Linda Carter came to the Kiesow's house to pick up Stephanie, their second foster since they joined our team a couple of months ago. They are in the process of adopting Darcie [from the 5 October 2008 OCTOBER'S TREATS Rescue Mission, which can be seen HERE]; they officially flunked Fostering 101 as most of us have at least once. So Stephanie joins Darcie & their other dog, Rex. Thanks, Mike & Linda - CRUSA & our Cairns are lucky to have you.

OK - what the heck do you do with TEN dogs when you have FOUR of your own? You try to find just the right place for ALL of them.

Mom & pups took over the main bathroom. We had been told she was not a good mom, but she did great here. She had the run of the room with her pups in a large cage so she could go in & out at will. Every time we checked, she was in with her babies, feeding or cleaning them.

At 11:45 p.m. Hannah was fed & pottied; Išve never stimulated a dog to potty before. Hopefully, Hannah will sleep a while before the next feeding.

At 3:45 a.m., time to feed Hannah again; 4:30 a.m., back to bed with Hannah at my neckline. No, I did not smash her; she stayed where I put her. I think it was because of her feeling/hearing my heart beat.

Everydog else slept through the night, very quiet. All the dogs were sweet & pleasant to be around; paid attention when you talked to them; walked on leash; did their thing and that was it. Amazing, don't ya think?

Sunday, travel day. Everyone out, one at a time to avoid any problems, fed, out again, loaded and ready to head north by 8:30 a.m. Whew, tired already!

[You can definitely see parallels between this experience and the program the six pups were named after, Jon & Kate Plus 8!]
