HANK IN TEXAS 7 JULY 2009
Cheryl Silver of TART (Texas Airedale Rescue Team) writes: This adorable six-month-old boy came to us recently when his family felt overwhelmed with one small child and a second on the way. This little boy had lived always in the back yard and adored the attention he got in the care of TART. Hank came through his neuter just fine, and then something happened . . . he could not urinate!
Days & days of testing followed: Ultrasounds, dye contrast testing, catheterization and nights at the ER clinic where he could be monitored to ensure no kinks occurred in the catheter. Yesterday, Becky Preston drove him to Texas A&M so the big chiefs could check him out. She spent the night there with him and he went through more testing today. No abnormalities have presented themselves. There are still outstanding test results that will come in a few days. We do know his liver & kidney functions look great. His appetite is great and he p**ps very nicely, in case you wondered. Throughout this all, this boy has never for a moment stopped being a happy, wiggle-bottom puppy . . . even during the times when the cath was being inserted, the tail just wagged. Needless to say, the bill is mounting. It is at about $1500 right now. We feel we are on the right path;the medication he is on is being adjusted and there have been *some* streams of urine, so that is the good news. The other great news is that there is a very 'dale-savvy family awaiting him once we can figure out what's what. So . . . if you feel you can kick in a few nickels and dimes or even dollars, Mr. Hank would appreciate the support . . . and powerful p**ing Zen would be much appreciated in any case. We will certainly keep you updated. PS. Becky said there is no way to get a pitiful-looking picture of this boy - he is just too in love with life - he *loves* to splash in his water bowl. PSS.
