In Memory of SHANA
We are an Airedale family who has adopted through Joey & Airedale Rescue.
Living not far from her, for years we carted our MOLLY & SHANA to her house to be groomed.
I secretly think she just wanted to know that they were loved & fine.
She is a wonderful lady who deserves all our thoughts & prayers.
We are sending good wishes from us and our current Airedale, DIXIE.

Here is a poem Joey wrote for us when we adopted
our Shana from her in the mid 1990's.
I have kept it all these years even though we lost Shana in 2001,
too early, due to brain lesions that the vet determined were a result of her abuse.
TO SHANA
She wagged her tail when first we met,
"So nice to meet you, too."
She did her duty in the yard
Undaunted by the new.
But when I asked her in, she stopped.
"Oh no, I'm not allowed!"
With bursting heart, I tugged and coaxed.
To both of us I vowed:
"You'll never have to stay outside
Again, I promise you.
We'll find a home, all toasty warm,
With toys and things to chew.
"You'll find a bed to lie upon
In every room you go,
And loving hands to pat your face
And set your heart aglow.
"A family of your very own
To watch and sit beside.
They'll play your games: you'll join their fun,
And in the car you'll ride.
"But best of all will be the love
You've never known before.
And never, Shana, will you wait,
Alone, outside the door."
