Lindsey Nicole (f/k/a Momma) at intake Miriam Patterson, Director of the Muhlenberg (KY) County Humane Society, writes: Momma came to us when her owners left her behind when they left their home, which had burnt to the ground. She is 10+ years old. She came to us in very poor health and very pregnant. She has eye infections in both eyes. The vet worried that with her health being like it was that having the babies would kill her. We opted to spay her. She is recovering. She is ever so sweet and would just love to have a home and love again. Lindsey Nicole on 7 June Temporary FosterMom Linda Holder writes: She's such a tiny thing with a tiny face, but you definitely see the Cairn in her in her coarse hair and stance. She's good with my other dogs and is becoming more family-oriented every day. We heard her crunching dry food during the night; when we started the coffee this morning, she was sleeping on the couch instead of hiding away in her crate. Her eyes are better, but it is a chronic autoimmune thing. The vet explained that the cyclosporine came into use to prevent organ transplant rejection. She is also on optimmune and a gel for overnight relief that he wants us to use every 4-6 hours for now.
She is house-trained, weighs 9.8 pounds, and has a good appetite. Her skin & hair are in poor condition. She has chronic dry eye. She has odd teeth, irregularities in the canines and holes in the enamel. She will require several extractions. She is a delight to foster. I'm just allowing her to get used to things at her own pace.
