Remember MidWest CairnFests? If you don't,
HERE is MIDWEST CAIRNFEST 2007 and
HERE is MIDWEST CAIRNFEST 2008

There are no longer venues available to rent for large CairnFests,
so ten years later, CairnDaddy & I hosted a MINI CAIRNFEST
in our new home in Palm Harbor, Florida.

ATTENDEES:

JACKIE & JOHN IKE,
without whom CRUSA would not have rescued so many Cairns.
Also, many Airedales, Westies, Welsh Terriers
& Wire Fox Terriers owe their lives to Jackie

PATRICIA YARNOT & HENRY MUSHINSKY,
bringing ZOOEY, SAMMY, CRUSA Rescues BOOKER
& BAILEY (f/k/a BUSTER BROWN IN FLORIDA)

SCOTT GREENWOOD,
bringing CRUSA Rescues SAM (f/k/a SAMMY IN FLORIDA)
& CHLOE (f/k/a CHLOE FROM OCALA)

SANDY CHECK,
bringing CRUSA Rescues TEDDIE (f/k/a TEDDIE FROM TAMPA)
& EMMIE (f/k/a EMMIE IN FLORIDA)

MARGARET & LOU CALDWELL,
bringing Rescue LAIEA & CRUSA Foster JAMIE
(a/k/a SHELDON IN FLORIDA)

HOSTS:

ANDREA & CAIRNDADDY NEAL
and CRUSA Rescues RICOBADBOY (f/k/a ASTRO),
DAISY2LEGS (f/k/a BABY),
HEATHER, BONNY (f/k/a PANHANDLE BONNY),
CRUSA Foster Westie ANGEL IN FLORIDA
(whom we call APRIL) & Rescue Chorkie SWEETEA

So, a total of ten hoomans and 16 canines.
There were no incidents. The dogs behaved well, also.

Several CRUSA Rescues - SARA Sutcliffe
(f/k/a STELLA of THE HANCOCK TRIO Rescue Mission, 2011),
who moved to Florida at the same time we did; KATO &
SHELBY (f/k/a SHELBY IN FLORIDA) Castaldi-Greene,
who are on their way home to New Hampshire;
and JACK, LEROY (f/k/a SAD SAD LEROY CAIRN)
& SADEE (f/k/a SADEE IN FLORIDA) Charochak,
who now live in Michigan -
were not able to attend this reunion.

BJ Isaacs had thought to attend, with her ten dogs,
but was expecting the arrival of Bill Schumacher with KATIE,
of BOB & KATIE IN KENTUCKY. Next time, BJ said.

Speaking of next time: Dr. Leah Hathaway, who has been
our CRUSA vet here in Palm Harbor, was also planning to join us,
but a very good friend flew into town (and were her arms tired!).
When I told her next time there may be over 20 dogs,
she said, "That's a dog park.
Veterinarians don't go to dog parks.'-)"
We are much more in control of our dogs
than those who go to dog parks, so not to worry.

Seeing as we are now in Florida,
the theme was PARROTHEADS, of course,
so theme colors were RED, ORANGE, GREEN & BLUE.

I ordered a tray of mini sub sandwiches,
laid on the beer (LandShark, natch, among others), wine,
water (water always has to be available in Florida).
Everyone brought something: appetizers, salads, desserts.
NO ONE fed the animals.
